Bob Baugher, Class of 67

President & Owner, Cocoa Beach Surf Company and Radisson Resort at the Port

Bob Baugher, Class of 67On March 2, 2007, the Junior Achievement of East Central Florida at its 21st Annual Business Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will honor inductees: Bob Baugher, President of and Owner of the Radisson Resort at the Port and Cocoa Beach Surf Company; Moses Harvin, President and CEO of American Services Technology Inc.; and Nick Heldreth, retired Harris Corporation Human Resources Executive.

The Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame was established to recognize outstanding business leaders for their significant and enduring contributions to their chosen business endeavors and the community.

As owner of three local hotels—one of them situated in a surf-complex venue—Baugher is known as an entrepreneur and risk-taker. He came up in the surf retail business, rising to a high executive position with Ron Jon Surf Shop. Baugher struck out on his own and opened Cocoa Beach Surf Company, a surf retailer that is the anchor feature in a three-story high building that also houses a Sheraton Four Points Hotel, a Starbucks and a surf-themed restaurant with a shark tank. Baughter’s casual, laid-back style has earned him points during the years with vendors and business people alike. He continually gives back to the community, serving on various committees, and sponsoring local surf contests and related events.
